Aikido at            New Haven Aikikai

Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that is practiced worldwide by people of all ages. Its roots are in Japanese jujitsu, kendo and sword arts, with influence from Zen. The "do" in its name means Aikido is a martial path, practiced with a goal of self-transformation.

New Haven Aikikai - Fire Horse Dojo is a welcoming and energetic Aikido dojo. Our lineage is in the Aikikai style although we welcome Aikidoka of all backgrounds. We also offer classes in Aikido, Aikido weapons, Iaido, the art of drawing and cutting with the Japanese sword, and Zazen, or seated Zen meditation.
