New Haven Aikikai Fire Horse Dojo
Aikido at New Haven Aikikai
Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that is practiced worldwide by people of all ages. Its roots are in Japanese jujitsu, kendo and sword arts, with influence from Zen. The "do" in its name means Aikido is a martial path, practiced with a goal of self-transformation.
New Haven Aikikai - Fire Horse Dojo is a full-time Aikido dojo affiliated with Birankai North America and Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan. Our lineage is in the Aikikai style although we welcome Aikidoka of all backgrounds.
